What are Neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators are injectable substances derived from botulinum toxin type A. When injected into specific muscles, neuromodulators temporarily block nerve signals, preventing the muscles from contracting. This results in a smoother, more relaxed appearance of the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Treatment Options

  • BOTOX® Cosmetic: BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the most well-known and widely used neuromodulators. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. BOTOX® injections typically take just a few minutes to administer, with results lasting up to 3 to 4 months.
  • Dysport®: Dysport® is another FDA-approved neuromodulator that works similarly to BOTOX® Cosmetic. It is used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. Dysport® injections are quick and virtually painless, with results lasting up to 4 months.
  • Xeomin®: Xeomin® is a purified form of botulinum toxin that is FDA-approved for the treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. Unlike some other neuromodulators, Xeomin® does not contain any additional additives, which may reduce the risk of antibody formation. Results from Xeomin® injections typically last up to 3 months.
