Skin Pigmentation / Birthmarks

Birthmarks appear in various shapes, sizes, and colors and may be present at birth or appear shortly after. While most birthmarks are harmless, some require medical attention for proper diagnosis and treatment.
Types:
- Strawberry Hemangioma – Raised red birthmark that often fades over time
- Salmon Patch – Flat pink or red mark that typically disappears in infancy
- Café-au-Lait Spot – Light brown patch that may indicate an underlying condition if multiple spots are present
- Mongolian Spot – Bluish-gray mark often seen in infants of Asian or African descent
- Port-Wine Stain – Permanent, dark red birthmark that may require laser treatment
