Basal Cell Carcinoma

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer. It primarily occurs on sun-exposed areas like the face, scalp, neck, hands, and arms. While it rarely spreads, it can cause significant local damage if untreated. Early detection and excision are the most effective treatments.

  • Flesh-colored or pearly pink, red, or brown domed-shaped bump
  • A pimple-like sore that won’t clear
  • A wound that bleeds, heals, and then returns
  • A scar-like growth that appears waxy, skin-colored, white, or yellow

Basal Cell Carcinoma Treatments

  • Cryotherapy (freezing the lesion)
  • Topical or oral medications
  • Radiation therapy
